Monochrome Monday – A Day at the Beach

Have you ever gone to the beach during a snowy winter? I hadn’t…until yesterday. So much snow has fallen on the sea-coast of New Hampshire as to transform it into something totally alien compared to summer days of sun and sand… bikinis and board shorts.

A beautiful series of b & w shots. My favorite time of year for the beach has always been winter. We used to live 4 to 5 blocks away from the Atlantic and I would go down there, all bundled up against the cold, for solitary walks. Very refreshing!

Thank you so much. I appreciate that. Yeah, Sunday was not too cold, nor windy. If I’d not been out to make photos, I could see walking the beach. It was very nice and peaceful. Cheers

Thanks…You know, at this point, chilly is relative. It did not seem bad at all. No wind about 32F/0C. Today may hit 40 and I have my spring jacket. πŸ˜€

The black and white photos are really cool. I used to live at the beach in New Jersey years ago. Our town government shut down in the winter. There is nothing better than the beach in the off-season πŸ™‚

Thank you. It seemed like good subject matter for B&W. I really wish I had time a few weeks ago to get out to Cape Cod. It would have been so cool to go out to Provincetown. A town government that shuts down in winter…that sounds pretty interesting.

these are wonderful shots, Chris, love the winter mood in all of them… I’d love to see the same beach through your lens only several months from now, with all them bikinis and board shorts πŸ™‚

Thank you. I am really enjoying adding bw to my reportoire. It was perfect for many of these shots. Yes, I can’t wait to return and get the bikinis and board shorts…and not fall in the snow Thanks again. =)
