J.E. Henry Railway

The J.E. Henry Railway is a narrow gauge railway run by the Loon Mountain ski resort to shuttle passengers between the two lodges. It only travels a quarter-mile (about 0.5 km) but that is preferrable to walking the distance in ski boots. It has a wood fired boiler. In the off-season, they run it a couple of days a month and have a program where people can come up and learn how to operate the steam engine.

Thank you Lynne. I’ve been meaning to get over there to make photos for a while. I suppose the guest engineer program would allow for some interesting shots also.
