Make Way for Duckings – Monochrome vs Color

Ducklings in Monochrome

This sculpture in Boston’s Public Garden commemorates the cherished children’s book by Robert McCloskey. A few times, I’ve seen them wearing special hats. Presumably, these are bonnets from the recent Easter holiday. I made this photo and like it in both color and BW. The color shows the form well, but the color shows the warm light. Do you have a preference?

The only other time that I’ve seen the ducklings with hats on was in 2004 after the Red Sox won the World Series. They were all wearing Red Sox ball caps. Thank you, I spent some time setting up this shot. Cheers =)

Thank you….How nice to be sharing this story with a new generation. I worked in a Barnes and Noble while going to school and this was a favorite in the Children’s Book department. Cheers
