The old Gate 2 at Charlestown Navy Yard.
The U.S.S. Constitution is the world’s oldest commissioned warship that is still afloat. Launched in 1797, it fought with distinction in the War of 1812. Over time it became a training ship, ambassador to other nations, and museum. It is still a U.S. Naval vessel and helps to promote the understanding of the Navy’s role in war and peace.
Currently, it is in dry dock. If you were 219 years old, you might need a bit of work also. Tours still occur daily. The former US Navy Yard where she is berthed is also interesting to roam around with a visitor center, museum and some great old architecture.
