Bill Russell Tribute Statue

Gracing the southern side of Boston’s City Hall Plaza is this tribute to Bill Russell.  What I really appreciate is that it highlights not just his achievements on the basketball court with the Boston Celtics but also his work for civil and human rights.  Some wonderful values are reflected here.

      You know, I walk by this statue a lot because I usually park up the street from here. It always touches something in me in terms of trying to make the world a better place. Cheers!

      Thank you, Sarah…I think it just inspires us to want to do better, you know. Being a basketball legend would be enough for many people, but he did more. Cheers! I hope you enjoyed your Sunday.

        I really couldn´t agree more. He is indeed a very admirable man!
        Oh yes, it´s been a lovely sunday that I spent with a little walk in the park (like everybody else it seemed;)
        Wish you a wonderful week ahead, Chris! Cheers 🙂

        It sounds nice there. It is cool and very windy here today. We even have a bit of the white stuff that shall not be named when I got up this morning. But a nice day to do things inside.
        I hope you have a wonderful week also, Sarah.
        Cheers =)

        Haha! “The white stuff that shall not be named” – sounds a little bit shrouded in mystery or like “He who must not be named” from Harry Potter! 😀
        Hope the weather will improve your side of the Atlantic! Cheers! 🙂
