Gosport Harbor

Gosport Harbor

Recently, I’ve shown some images from Star Island of the New Hampshire Coast. It is one of a series of Isles of Shoals. Breakwalls have been installed between a few of the islands to make a protected area in front of Star Island, known as Gosport Harbor. The first view is of the harbor from the front porch of the Oceanic Hotel. The view below is from a small hill to the side on which thee is a gazebo where we ate out picnic lunch.

I have not spent much time on your coast but I did have a fabulous couple of days up at Franconia Notch State Park. EXcellent hiking, lovely scenery and enjoyable camping.

That’s a nice part of the state. I live about two hours away on the Massachusetts border but like to get up there a couple of times a year. Sadly, I’ve not seen much of Michigan ( brief visits to the Detroit area and Grand Rapids).

Ah…neither of those places have much to do with where I live, one dune back from Lake Michigan. It’s a working class area in a working port. It’s pretty cool, an awesome secret to be kept for those in the know, much like New Hampshire.

I hear that Michigan has some lovely areas but have not yet had time to explore them. Dunes; I love dunes. You’re fortunate to live among them. With a bit of luck, I can get to Cape Cod National Seashore in the next few weeks. Cheers!
