The Field

This field lies between our home and the nearest city. I drive by it a lot and have loved this planting of what looks to be some type of wheat. On Sunday, I managed to have my camera with me at the same time that we had some really nice light. It’s a good think that I did it then because all of this is gone now. They are preparing the field for the next planting.

I see similar scenes when I drive, but I did not stop to take pictures like you did. It’s a very nice photo, and I will have to follow your example one of these days.

I’m not always so good. There was a shot I wanted in a field a few months ago and hesitated and what I wanted was gone. That’s motivation to not wait.

Thank you. Yes. We don’t get many fields like this. Here is is mostly corn. I am told there is a bear that lives in the far edge of the field.

I have been wanting to stop and capture “fields of grain” ever since on my way home from Cleveland, listened to Louis Armstrong singing “it’s a wonderful world.” Such a beauteous sight and the lighting is gorgeous! Thank goodness you caught this just in the nick of time, Chris. πŸ™‚

Beautifully balanced framing, Chris. I like the way I feel drawn into the picture by the dip in the treeline and the flow of the wheat. You live in a beautiful place.
