When I came out of the parking garage and into this park, I spotted this man amidst dozens of potted plants that he was busy putting in the soil. “What a great thing.” I thought, “He makes the world more beautiful.” I went over and asked if I could take his photo. He allowed me to do so. When I asked, he told me he is from El Salvador. I’d lived and taught there for a couple of months two years ago. We chatted for a few minutes about El Salvador and his new life here in the US. Then we shook hands and went our ways.
Did you speak to him in Spanish?
Yes. It was good practice for me. Cheers
Thatโs great news, itโs always a blessing to see people doing their little bit for making the world more colourful!๐
I agree. There were so many flowers for him to plant.
What you did is such a kind act. To stop and say hello or chat to foreign employees. In lil red dot some folks turn up their noses at the Indians or Bangladeshi workers digging trenches here and constructing our infrastructure. Like you, I stop to chat though I have not been to their home countries. I admire what you did. Bless your kind heart๐๐๐ค๐ค
Some people here also look down on workers, especially foreign workers. But other people see them as just other people. Cheers
I am grateful to them toiling under hot sun to tar our roads, constructing buildings etc. Let’s continue to treat them as people. I am glad you do your part in USA and I do mine in Singapore. Cheers๐๐
Beauty, indeed, all around. It is by actions like this that the everyday true can overcome the everyday absurd.. Thank you for starting my morning with a smile ๐
We need more beauty in the world; thatโs for sure. Thanks and cheers.

Kudos to you! You made this man smile and me too! Sometimes we take for granted those people who make our world more beautiful. You are an inspiration to all of us!
