Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to all. This ghostly image is the grave of Lady Alice Fenwick who died in 1648 and is buried in Old Saybrook, CT.

Ha ha ha. There is actually an effigy for her on the grave. Unfortunately, 300+ years of the elements and people touching it have caused it to degrade significantly. This keeps people away. A canopy would be a good idea. It’s actually in pretty bad shape otherwise that could have been a good photo.

I was thinking in the same lines – obviously the fence is there to keep her in.πŸ˜‰ My, that’s a really old grave! She must have been part of the first or so wave of settlers. Cheers!

I was not around her grave late at night. It was about 7:00 am and sunny. I was taking some photos at a nearby marina and some locals told me this is a great shot. Thank you and cheers!
