Springtime in the Field

This is a local field at Brookdale Fruit Farm in Hollis, NH. I liked how the mulch created a contrast and was blessed with a really nice sky.

Winter’s Return

After going cycling two weeks ago, we are now back to winter. Today, a bit of snow fell in northern New England. South of Boston fared a bit worse. On the upside, it made my daily hike look like something from a fairy tale. Cheers!

Pickety Place

Pickety Place is a restaurant and shop over in Mason, NH that specializes in food and other things made and flavored with herbs. In summer, their gardens bloom, but snow brings a certain charm also.

Hollis Orchard at Sunset

Last week, I posted the easiest image I’ve recently made; it was a cardinal and I made the image from our living room. This is a close runner up. I was driving home at sunset and saw the sun setting over the orchard in Hollis. I parked on a side street and walked in to make this and a few other shots that I will be sure to share.

Out in the Storm

My break from school ends on Monday. Over the past four weeks, I’ve tried to get out on a variety of shoots to get a bank of photos to choose from over the upcoming weeks. It’s difficult to get out to make photos when I’m taking classes. Some shoots were successful and others not so much. I wanted to go to a living history museum this weekend for photos in the snow, but a warm rain storm put an end to those plans. On the other hand, a trip to southern Maine during a warm spell last week provided me with a ton of images.

This was the easiest image to make. I took it in my stocking feet from our living room during a storm. The poor cardinal did not have it so easy, but he left our yard well fed.

New England Art Reach

I’m pleased to announce that seven of the images I made while in El Salvador were selected by New England Art Reach to be part of an exhibition at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, NH from now through June. While I’ve taken part in some art shows that run one to three days, this is my first ever exhibition. I am one of five artists to have their work shown over the next six months. New England Art Reach arranges art for a number of hospitals in the area. Having gallery space in hospitals is a common practice in this area. It is typically displayed in atriums and central passageways.
